Being one of the leading ad networks in the industry comes with many advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is the ability to leverage our extensive network as a source for advertisers to reach a larger audience. Another advantage is the specific demographic targeting capabilities of our publishers. Here at Flux Ads we understand the importance of having happy publishers - that’s why we have a can-do attitude when asked - is this possible?
A can-do approach also enables us to provide relevance for our advertisers. One way we keep everyone happy is by paying our publishers on time. However, it has been more and more challenging; industry wide because other networks/advertiser’s have decided to play the “that’s fraud” game - without evidence or proper details outlining adequate proof. Fortunate for us we’ve been wise in our business partnerships, but the trickle down effect is felt everywhere.
It’s feasible to assume many ad networks will dry up and move on because of bad decision making, but what about the negative associations that are felt as a result of a few bad seeds? How do you avoid the chase the dollar game, or collect on a bad debt scenario? I believe you’re only as good as your word. If you ask me to run a campaign for you and I deliver on that promise, do your job and qualify/monetize on your end so I don’t have to debate whether or not the leads were legit - just a thought.
It has now been one week removed from the Affiliate Summit and now is the time to put all the excitement you walked away from the show with into action. These shows can be very beneficial. There are a LOT of knowledgeable people who attend. Most of us here at Flux come back from these conferences charged up and excited about new opportunities. The biggest key is to move forward on the ideas/ventures. Far too often we encounter people who get all hyped up from the conference and then flame out shortly after and do not pursue those opportunities. Definitely go full boar at whatever task you take on. I’ve met a lot of people over my 7 years doing this who came into a conference with limited knowledge, who are now making high six figure incomes. It’s exciting to see.
Sadly, my Chargers are not in the Super Bowl after a awful performance by the kicker. Who misses 3 field goals in a playoff game?!
So I have now hopped on the Saints bandwagon and am rooting for former Charger and good guy, Drew Brees to get his first Super Bowl ring.
We decided to ride the hype of the Super Bowl and develop an email submit campaign specifically for this years Super Bowl.
The campaign asks: “Who will win the Super Bowl? Saints or Colts?”
The prize is an Authentic NFL Jersey for their team of choice. It’s a simple email submit that has been doing very well in it’s first 48 hours since being launched. Definitely would recommend testing it out if you have any sports related or simply male targeted inventory.
Thanks to everyone that stopped by our table at the show in Vegas this past week/end. You helped make the show a success for us and we appreciate your consideration. Like most of you who attended, it’s time to gear up for the loads of work that came from the many handshakes and meetings. We’re very excited about the potential partnerships and growth of our existing relationships - so thanks again for everything.
Aria Resort & Spa:
What a place - it’s beautiful and new - exactly what I expected to see upon my arrival on Saturday. For all of it’s exterior appeal - juxtapose the service and room conditions – that place sucks! Unfortunately my stay was flat out horrible. When I say horrible, I mean HORRIBLE. It’s so bad that a 4-room change in one night stay is commonplace. Call me crazy, but when you pay the rates they charge receiving/expecting adequate service should be guaranteed. Not with Aria - MGM.
I was scheduled to stay for 3 nights – it was so bad I left after one night. People, I had 4 rooms in one night! I would have had 5 if I agreed to switch - AGAIN. The last room I had the thermostat was broken, so the AC didn’t work making it more like a steam room than a swank/new hotel suite. Luckily they had openings at the Bellagio, but even that was an issue — MGM.
I would go into detail (smelly room, loud kids in the adjoining room, leaving a bed in the room, the pull out kind, leaving people’s – other people’s possessions in a room, not answering the phones at the front desk, not answering the phone for room service, giving a gym voucher as a form of compensation, singing house keepers at 8 am, neglecting to inform guests that the room they’re booking has an absurdly loud water show every 15 minutes on the hour…), but I’m too tired to write a 30 plus page dissertation on how dreadful my stay with ARS was. Just ask 3/4 of the guys on my team - all of us but Sean had an issue.
The final nail in the coffin - if the hotbox wasn’t enough - I received a bill for the entire stay! Did I mention we pre-paid? After all I had endured, I received a fat charge on my MC for all 3 nights. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas – really?
